Brazil’s alternative assets industry has struggled to find traction in recent years as both global and local market volatility have impacted both performance and fundraising. Nearly every major asset class has seen flat-to-negative AUM growth over the past five years, highlighted by the more-than-$1bn decline in net AUM over the first half of 2022. Nevertheless, infrastructure investment has been a relatively bright spot for the country, while local hedge funds have also performed well.
