Working with a cross-disciplinary team of talented experts to deliver the latest iteration of the Preqin website was my proudest moment.
Tell us about your role, and what your day-to-day looks like
As a website manger at Preqin, my role is ultimately to keep our website up to date and bug free. I sit within the Marketing department and work closely with the Marketing team and the Engineering team daily. A typical day might be scoping a new project, refining the development backlog, or reviewing features before they go live.
What skills do you think are essential for your role in Marketing? Which ones did you develop on the job?
Having good organization skills are important. At any one time there are multiple projects in flight. I found having PRINCE2 and Agile/SCRUM training invaluable. This role has given me the opportunity to develop my agile project management skills. Understanding of what it takes to build and maintain a website is fundamental for a website manager. From the design process through to the development phase. Search engine optimization (SEO) is a big area and having a good grip on how to optimize websites and content is also essential.
How would you describe the culture at Preqin?
You might think that working in finance and data is dull. Not here at Preqin. It’s dynamic and fast paced. There is plenty happening to keep you excited and engaged. The working environment is very collaborative and supportive. I’m based in the London office, which is a great office. There are lots of co-working space for when you need to brainstorm, and quiet break out spaces for when you need focus.
What is your proudest achievement in your career so far?
