Feb 2022

I saw the growth potential Preqin has globally, and specifically in the Middle East, and wanted to be part of it.

What are you responsible for at Preqin?

I manage Preqin’s regional business in the Middle East from our Dubai office.

    Why did you join Preqin?

I joined Preqin for two main reasons: culture and growth.

Culture plays a big role in my decision to either join or leave a company. I spend more time with my colleagues and clients than with my kids, so I need to make sure that it’s worth it, I’ve got the support I need, I understand where I’m heading, and my efforts are appreciated. I spoke to many Preqin employees while I was being interviewed, people who are now my colleagues. They were amazing, easy to speak with, fun, chilled, extremely helpful, and supportive, and I thought to myself that Preqin would be a company I’d be more than happy to work for.

I saw the growth potential Preqin has globally, and specifically in the Middle East, and wanted to be part of it. Our clients rely entirely on our solutions - the biggest banks, investors, fund managers, and service providers in the world, so I knew that Preqin was definitely doing the right thing.

What achievement are you most proud of?

I’ve been at Preqin for a year now, part of a team of eight people coming from seven different countries, different backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. No two people knew each other. At first it was a bit quiet and cold in the office, so what I’m most proud of, a year later, is that it feels like we’re one very close team, heading in the same direction to reach the same objectives, while embracing our differences.

What advice would you give to someone who’s interested in learning about FinTech?

FinTech is the most innovative sector in modern business, and one of the fastest growing. Make sure you’re equipped with the right skills (hard and soft), you’re customer-centric, and build yourself a strong network in the FinTech space.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I am outdoorsy and my retirement plan is to live in the countryside surrounded by nature and animals. I’m blessed to live in a country where I can enjoy outdoor activities most of the year. My weekend plans would either be camping, hiking, or spending a day under the sun on the beach or in the desert. I tend to stick to this routine even when I am travelling!
